Overprint powder, also known as melamine glazing powder or overlay resin, is a melamine-formaldehyde resin powder produced without cellulose pulp filler, distinguishing it from standard moulding compounds. It is applied by sprinkling onto the surface of melamine tableware before final pressing and curing, where it melts under heat and pressure to form a transparent, hard, glossy protective layer. This finish enhances surface brightness, smoothness, and resistance to staining and wear. For A5-grade melamine tableware, the LG220 grade is specifically used for glazing, while LG110 is suited to A1 and A3 materials and LG250 is used for decal paper application.
